As a newly minted pilot, when I first heard about CtO my initial reaction when I read the minimum requirements, was to say "see you in five years." If you need a portable or slap-on shade, go with the Rosen mesh screen or the large slap-on from Sportys. Rosen has done group buy discounts in the past. I was surprised though as these do not mount in the 2 holes on the top windshield frame, they clamp to the fuselage frame beam and require peeling back the headliner slightly.
