I opted to put on some Red Irregular Choice shoes with the dress, as the complimented the pattern and as you all know, I do love matching things up together.
Site design and build by PxD. I ordered a 4XL which translates as a size 24. And one of my favourite ever purchases, the 1930s spear-pointed blouse which I have worn for many vintage occasions paired with wide legged trousers.
Many of you will know of my large collection of dresses, most with a vintage feel and style. My only concern was the length of the item as usually they can be exceedingly long on my small stature. These started around the front edge of the shoulder, almost where a standard seam would lie.
Given all the colours in the dress, there are many combinations of accessories that I can match it up with, including some lovely lulu-hun shoes. Looking on the website I found a special dress which really caught my eye. Priced initially at 31.49, after getting a discount off my whole basket, the dress came down to the amazing price of 24.81. The cape then covered the whole of the rear of the dress with one slit down the centre, from top to bottom. An almost plain white A line maxi dress, the addition of cape sleeves printed with flowers and butterflies turned it into a bit of a head-turner. I felt very elegant and classy whilst being exceedingly comfortable wearing it. I even bought several of the blouses so I could dye them different colours! The lower down, the denser the print. One of the places that I have found successful for items of a vintage style is fast fashion brand, Shein. I have found a few gems on Lady V London but have found that many of the designs stop at a size 22, with only a few going up as far as a size 26 which is what I need. The white floral cape dress was a spectacular design whilst being exceedingly affordable. The wings were covered in red poppies, green foliage and blue floral sprigs. I had checked the measurements to make sure it would fit me and thankfully with dimensions of 54/58/67 there was more than enough room.
