All the ladies in my group thought the hotel was first class with accommodation, the food, the staff, and the bonus of the hotel being just two minutes from the motorway. The greens were true but slow. This is the perfect get-away hotel with an 18-hole golf course on site, as well as a luxurious day spa where guests can pamper themselves with massages and spa treatments. It suited our wide range of playing abilities perfectly, with plenty of space for the lesser players but still testing for the better ones. With the rain we have had the course played great. What let the course down was the wetness of the fairways and rough absolutely sodden, so much so spent ages looking for plugged balls. Second day we didnt even get to play the course as they shut it. At 6,611 yards from the championship tees, Worsley Park is not the longest tournament course around, but the work of European Golf Design, in conjunction with Michael King, has made it a good test that will be enjoyed by all those who visit. Surprisingly relaxed and not pressed to play fast which may be due to the Open being on. There is also a gym, hot tub and a sauna. The onsite 18 hole golf course is challenging for all golfers, the profile of the course was raised considerably by the award of a European Challenge Tour event in 2004, the course has seen several improvements since then. The fairways look In good shape but the recent rain means every ball is hit with some standing water, Off the fairways it's like a farmers field, bring plenty of balls as if you're 1yard offline and not in the fairway it's plugged and near impossible to find, disappointing for the price paid but I guess they can't help the weather. Very slow 5 hour round on the Sunday painful behind a 4 ball who should no etiquette of letting a 2 ball through but that's society golf for you , Excellent condition perfect in every way credit to the green staff , Apart from the course being soaked.
