Once we figured it out, it was actually very easy to install to the wall. I am very pleased with this purchase. I love the option to have them as a plug-in or have them as a hardwire! And I didn't get electrocuted so there's that. 
They were very easy to install and look much higher end than the price. I like the way they look on our wall and are not in our way like our old nightstands. Look beautiful! You'll have to drill a couple of holes through back plate very easy. These are perfect. These had quite a few extra steps we had to take. We ordered sconces from another company previously and they made it real easy for us to install. Love the lamp but the instructions are horrible. They are good quality and a good size for what I needed. They're easy to turn on (which was important to us for kids). So I purchased these because I love the modern style. We were searching everywhere for gold sconces to match a gold lamp in our newly redecorated sitting room. The packaging was great and well protected. However, they are hard to install. I believe they have a model that includes a cord cover but it wasn't sized right for us. Compatible with two 60-watt E26-based bulbs (NOT included). The switch on the brass plug-in wall sconces is just an on/off switch without a dimming function. They look more expensive than they are and are a cool modern take on a wall sconce. Both hardwired and plug-in connections are applicable to the brass plug-in wall sconces. We had the most trouble trying to get the gold knobs on the front of the base to screw tightly to the wall mount. Dimension: the shade: 5.1 inches wide * 6.8 inches high; total height: 16.5 inches; distance out from wall: 11.4 inches; canopy: 5.1 inches. The instructions were clearly written by non-English speakers and could have been more clear. I would have loved them to be a little bit larger but honestly they look great so I'm satisfied with them. It was very easy to do. Good price for this productI hope my reviews is useful for other potential buyers. I love how they updated our ry, and cleared away stuff on the nightstand. These are great sconces for the price and look nice. drywall anchors for a couple of bucks.I loaded it with a 6W dimmable LED, perfect for hallway and have it plugged into a timer. If I used anchors, I'd upgrade to some slightly larger h.d. I am a single 30 year old woman who somehow ready these instructions with very little wording and installed these. I bought a cord cover and painted it my wall color so you can see the clear/ silver cord. There was lot of trial and error there because what those screw into has to also be tightened first. That was different for me and added an extra step, but it was nice to have the option. It came with instructions for how to wire it, whether hardwired or convert to a plug, but not for mounting it or putting the rest of it together. Easy to install and look great! They were a little tricky to install with our old plaster walls but once we figured out the right screw size, they fit perfectly. The gold/brass color with my decor is perfect.
