When your family has to deal with a child with cancer, it brings along many painful experiences, tears, fear and heartbreak. We so much appreciate the help we have received from Childrens Link!, We used the Childrens Link Society for much more than just their vast knowledge of information, resources and referral points. We like that they have various programs that are uniquely designed to be able to meet a familys needs at each stage of the cancer journey. While Ci highlights these key results, they may not be a complete representation of Alberta Childrens Hospital Foundations results and impact.

This year, the Alberta Childrens Hospital turns 100 years old! Alberta Childrens Hospital Foundation aims to offer health services that accommodate new families and young children. It has raised $21 million dollars for conservation projects and it is currently the largest ecotrust in North America. This service is for those who still need intensive therapy during the day, yet are ready to sleep at home at night. To ensure their services are what people need, the Calgary Foundation has even conducted surveys and research to determine the areas for improvement in the city. For The Love Of Children Society Of Alberta is totally volunteer based non-profit organization (none of them get paid to do the charitable work) that has helped over a million underprivileged children and their families worldwide for the past 40years; mobilizing many volunteers to deliver the aid. This charity is not yet rated on impact (n/r). I rescued some tiny mallard ducklings today (while on holiday in Canada) and within 2 minutes of contacting AIWC I had a reply saying they would send help and within an hour a wildlife rescue driver was here to collect them.

The hospital is such a source of pride for people in our community as it should be since your generosity helped make it the world-class hospital that it is todayand will continue to shape child health in the future. Childrens Link provides a safe and supportive environment for people to share their diverse stories and express their needs. This place has helped a few times in my life when I really needed it and I have to mention how nice and friendly the volunteers are they really made it a great experience and the food I received was a blessing.
This unique combination of crucial services will augment and integrate with the continuum of care currently provided by Alberta Health Services and agencies within our community.
