I once installed those metal blast gates with the hard wired low voltage switches that when activated by sliding the blast gate open, would activate another switch that would then turn on my dust collector. This is a good remote unit for the dust collection system.

I just received this remote switch and I can not believe that I waited 13 years to pick one of these things up! I don't even want to know how much accumulated time I have wasted by walking over to turn my dust collector on and off. Additional charges may apply.
However, it works every time, no mater where I am in the shop. Power Tools & Accessories Plug the remote base unit into a power source, plug your dust collector into the base unit and set the collector's switch to "On." It even works through walls!

I have a central vac system hooked to each of the seven major tools in the workshop. Every time you need to start your dust collector you're on the other side of the shop. However, a very minor issue. Because I am now more likely to turn off the dust collecter when I am not using it I save electricity. Using a Grizzly G1029/2HP collector. Can't decide what to get the woodworker in your life? Option could be made available for plugs and sockets to suit target country, but apart from that, a very good unit. It even works through walls! This 220V wireless remote control and receiver can turn your 2-1/2 HP dust collector on and off from as far as 75 feet away. This is my thrid remote, it seems to be a much better unit than the others. Installation is easy.
